In brief
There are no accounts, logins, mailing lists or comments on TipsterGrid, so you never have to give us anything. Below is everything that happens regardless, simply because a browser loaded a page, and which parties can see it.
Behind a single page load
Four things, each of which you can confirm in your browser’s developer tools.
1. The page
Our pages are static files delivered by a content delivery network. As with every request on the web, yours includes your IP address, your browser’s user-agent and the address of the page, and the network provider uses those to deliver it. All we receive back from that provider is overall traffic totals, never a log of individual readers.
2. Analytics
The site runs its own analytics, hosted on this domain instead of an outside advertising network. It relies on first-party cookies, which are tied to this domain and readable by it alone; they let us tell a returning browser apart from a brand-new one. The cookie that lasts longest expires after roughly 13 months. The analytics measures page views only — it builds no profile of you and does not track you across other websites.
3. The typeface
Our pages request a font from Google’s font service, so your browser contacts a server run by Google, and like any request this reveals your IP address and user-agent. It is the only outside party a page here calls on by itself, and we prefer to tell you than leave you to spot it. If the font is blocked, your device’s default font is used and the site works exactly the same.
4. Bookmaker links
Betting buttons do not point straight at a bookmaker. They lead to a path on this domain, which forwards you through a click-tracking service we run and then to the bookmaker. Along the way it logs that a click occurred and which page it came from, and, as with any request, it can see your IP and user-agent string. From your arrival on the bookmaker’s site its own privacy policy applies, and your account and betting activity are invisible to us.
Things we never do
- We never request your name, email or any other personal information, and no form on this site would take it.
- We never sell, rent out or pass on data about readers, since we keep none.
- We run no ad networks, no retargeting pixels and no social plug-ins. You will not find share buttons embedded on these pages.
- We send no email of any kind, so there is no list to leave.
The real controls are in your browser: block third-party requests and only the font stops loading while the site carries on working, and clear this site’s data to remove the analytics cookies, which are all this site keeps in your browser.
This policy reflects the site as it is built now; if that changes, so will the policy, and what you read here is what applies. For now there is nowhere to send privacy questions — the contact page explains that openly instead of offering an address that does not exist.
